Maybe I’m just a bad person, but my wife keeps telling me that I’m not trying to hurt anyone and that I’m the greatest. I really don’t want to make others hurt, I just don’t want to rekindle friendships that are no longer important to me, the ones that have faded away.
I’m very sorry for your loss dbraun. I’m not disagreeing that people need friends, I just don’t need a lot, especially people from the past who I’ve consciously avoided. I’ve always always always been a loner, even when I had friends. Whenever I went through hard times they gave me lousy advice. My sister was the only one who told me the right things and who generally cares about my well being. Lets put it this way, with my old friends it never really got past “what video games are you playing? what movies are you watching?” They’d give me advice but it would generally be immature stupid advice. With friends for me it’s quality over quantity.

nothing wrong with not wanting to be friends with some people anymore. Though it can get lonely if your wife is your only friend and yes their will be a day will arguement will seem like its the end of relationship. It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer of 1960, and Fred had a date with Peggy Sue. He arrived at her house and rang the bell.

I have a very hard time reading her. For lack of a better description, I get the impression she treats sex as just “something to do”. For example, when she’s on her period, out of mutual choice, we don’t do anything, BUT she will give me head. She says she does this for a couple reasons, 1: to keep me from getting moody, and 2: she also says she likes to do that. Ok, pretty awesome. No arguments and I’m grateful I have a GF that still wants’ to please me that way. I do know she gets frustrated too, and I feel helpless, cause well, there isn’t anything I can do to her during these times. The point is, at least I know she wants to with me. Or makes it appear that way when we’re going without. But when she’s off her period, she’s in no rush to do anything. I try to be persuasive by intimate physical contact. Which always goes nowhere. She acts like “what’s your rush” “oh Jeesh, your always that way”…. Eventually, with a smile, she’ll jokingly acknowledge my subtle hints and say “ok dear, would you like to have sex?”….

She does suffer form ocassional back pains. So there are times were we don’t because of that. This is a frequent thing with her. So I try to be understanding of that and typically don’t want to make it any worse by having sex. So I’ll opt out cause I think it will cause more grief than good. So I’m really confused. I’m hoping there are some women here that could offer insight. Why would some women shut down their feelings like this. Is sex a part time hobby for some? Maybe physically I’m not all that she says I am. Or that this relates back to her personality traits. Maybe she’s quietly using someone else for sex, and me for everything else… I don’t know. I’m just very confused and want this one to work, cause other than this little snag, life with her is really awesome.

It sounds like she knows what she wants – oral and vaginal sex, and just doesn’t want to waste time with anything else.

No–it looks as if you’re covering something up. Plus, if you’ve had those jobs over several years, it shows that you’re a desirable and reliable worker that managers want back when the need arises.

I would include the dates as something like “2006-2009″ or “2009-present” Then I would put something in the job description like “contract work,” “casual work,” or “part-time.” It was part-time if you only worked for them part of the time!
